Janaka Karalliedde

Profesor titular en el Departamento Cardiovascular. Facultad de Medicina y Ciencias de la vida. King's College Londres. Consultor en Diabetes, Endocrinología y Medina Interna Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital de Londres.

Dr Karalliedde is a Senior Lecturer in the Cardiovascular Division, Faculty of Life Science & Medicine, King's College London and Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital London.
He graduated with a distinction in medicine from the University of London. He was awarded UK Medical Research Council Clinical Research Training Fellowship and a PhD by the University of London for research on cardiovascular and renal disease in diabetes. His research is focussed on developing new therapies and treatment targets to reduce cardio-renal disease risk and complications in patients with diabetes. Dr Karalliedde has published widely in the subject of diabetic nephropathy and cardiovascular disease and has been awarded research grants from the UK Medical Research Council, Diabetes UK, European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes and National Institute for Health Research.
Dr Karalliedde has expertise in managing patients with renal and cardio-vascular complications related to diabetes. He runs specialist clinics for patients with diabetic renal and vascular complications at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital, and intermediate care community diabetes clinics in South London that are designed to provide specialist multi-disciplinary care to patients closer to their homes.
